“Saving the Mekong", produced by Eureka Films, portrays how fishing communities in the Siphandone (Four Thousand Islands) stretch of the Mekong in southern Laos are threatened by hydro development. The proposed developments would block fish migrations and push the endangered Irrawaddy dolphin to extinction.

Probe International is working with citizens group in the six-country Mekong region to challenge the Western aid-backed dam building spree in the region. The dams are threatening to destroy the river's migratory fish stocks, which millions of people living on the Mekong and its tributaries depend on for their livelihood.
